TMC's first national CMN Champion Child

Every year, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and TMC work together to choose a "champion" in our local community to represent the children treated at TMC for Children. This ambassador spends the year advocating for the charitable needs of our children's hospital.
This year is special - our local champion child, Logan Navidad, was also chosen to be one of 10 national champion children. This means that he represents not only TMC for Children, but all 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. This is the first time TMC’s local champion child was chosen as a national ambassador.
To add to the excitement, Logan's picture is featured on Cheerios boxes that are being sold at Costco stores across the country for the month of May. General Mills will give a portion of the proceeds to CMN.
"It's so cool," Logan said holding the Cheerios box.
Logan’s story
At the young age of 2, Logan began to pull on his ears in discomfort and had trouble verbalizing his words. He began to have constant ear infections which led to congestion and hard-to-treat sinus troubles. When Logan turned 3, his parents became concerned when he wasn't communicating as a toddler his age should.
His pediatrician referred them to TMC for Children where experts determined that Logan had dramatic hearing loss in both ears. Doctors responded immediately, and Logan underwent several procedures to fix his hearing loss, including surgery to place tubes in his ears and have his tonsils removed. This was only the beginning of Logan’s journey. After the surgeries, he has spent countless hours working with TMC speech and audiology therapists.
They have also taught his parents new and exciting ways to help Logan grow and improve. Even facing all these life challenges, Logan now age 8, has remained a constant ray of positivity and optimism. When we asked Logan how he felt about the challenges he has faced growing up he said, “I hope one day everyone who has something like me knows they can be anything they want to be when they grow up.”
Thanks to the support of TMC for Children and TMC Pediatric Therapy services, Logan received the foundational treatments which allow him to succeed and excel in elementary school.
