Team Building Activities
This is the Subpage
Team building can be defined as the process of causing a group of people to work together effectively…True. More importantly, it is the process of building connections between co-workers, allowing us to seeing one another as humans and cultivating a better understanding of one another.
Team building activities can be tailored for small or large groups; in-person or via Teams; and late 5 minutes or 30 minutes…whatever works best for your team! Here are just a few ideas to get you started; there a many more ideas available on the web.
Show and Tell
This is just like what we used to get to do in kindergarten! Prior to a meeting, ask several people if they are willing to share something that is significant to them in some way. It could be a picture, an object, a song or a video. Anything that helps the group learn something about their co-worker.
Locker Decorating Contest
This is a great way to involve different shifts. You can create the criteria or theme your contest. This activity allows people to express themselves.
2 Truths and 1 Lie
At the start of a meeting, ask everyone to fill out an index card with his or her name and two truths + one lie. Randomly select a few cards to read and see how well your team knows one another.
Caption This…
Select and print out a few pictures that could have many different captions. This can help teams understand different perspectives and will also create some laughter.
Playlists What are your top three - five most played songs currently?
Most everyone uses some type of music app that should allow them to see what they listen to most. Allow individuals to take a few minutes to also explain what they like about some of their chosen songs. This helps us learn about each other and maybe find out that others have similar favorite songs.
